Star Trek Beyond (2016) - Not Relative

They dare to also call this Star Trek 3.  I've given it some time to make my final decision on this new crew.  Given, I'm a former trekkie with a bias, I'm ready now...
FYI: this brash young version of the original roles has evolved through an alternate timeline.  Thus, Spock has developed enough emotion to make Uhura his "girlfriend" and wants to retire from Starfleet to be an ambassador on Romulus.  I have to list my complaints due to the seriousness of this matter:
1)  J.J. Abrams does not understand the Star Trek universe.  The alien swarm of ships is only plausible to a special effects lab.  I actually viewed an inner tube of a massive tidal wave of ships engulfing the Federation starship that Kirk & Co. maneuvered.
2)  Kirk rides a motocross-type motorcycle now and performs an Evel Knievel stunt to save his crew.  In their first movie, he opens by driving a muscle-car at full speed up to the edge of a cliff.  Is this Mission Impossible or what???
3)  I have to cut this short.  Abrams is so bent on sensationalism that there are various endings.  By the end of the movie, we have already been subject to enough violence & action, being numbed to the beat of rock and roll.
Well, my balcony liked it, so I have to rate this at the Losing 45 yard line.  It just might take off with this new generation.
